I joined CCVSC in May of 2006 as the first practice manager of the facility. Though it seems a peculiar marriage, my background in psychology has found a welcome place in emergency and specialty veterinary medicine. I must admit, I walked into this without previous experiencing managing emergency veterinary medicine, but I have come to find that each day brings with it situations where my primary field of study can be of help. That being said, I have also come to realize things like payroll and taxes are similar no matter where you manage. I have found the experience of managing an emergency veterinary hospital to be one of particularly personal growth and welcome challenge. In this rare place, rare people are found doing extraordinary things and I am humbled and privileged to be a part of it.
Outside of work, I get to flex my criminological muscle as a professor at CSU, Fresno teaching two courses. I plan on moving on to a doctoral education in forensic psychology in the near future, and seek a life of teaching and researching human behavior (particularly the kind that gets people in big trouble). Other than my criminological and managerial pursuits, I am quite fond of music and have been trained as a violinist and, to a much lesser extent, a vocalist. My greatest enjoyment comes from spending time with friends and family, and watching their growth as life ebbs and flows.
The support I have felt at CCVSC has been phenomenal, and I can only hope that the time I have spent here has benefited the employees, patients, and clients that have come through our doors. It is my belief that the employees at CCVSC are some of the very best in the business, and I intend to do my very best to support their passion for this work.
