DIGITAL ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to make tissues visible on a computer screen without causing any discomfort or danger. There are two basic types of ultrasound machines: digital and analog. Digital ultrasound is superior to analog because the images collected during the exam are stored as raw "digital" data. This data can be manipulated after the patient is no longer in the room. Images be can now be collected in less than 1/3 the time it used to take. The doctor can then process the images to glean all the information possible while the patient - and you - are comfortably at home rather than at the hospital.
